Baumeier Corporation is a Canadian owned and operated metal manufacturing company, specializing in medium to small production, prototyping and custom projects. In business since 1991, Baumeier is focused on meeting the design and manufacturing needs of its customers.

We are currently looking for a full-time CNC Machine Shop Manager.  This role is responsible for managing the CNC machine shop, advancing the technology contained within and for improving procedures and process control. This is a full-time year-round position.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Details of this position:

  • Permanent, full time
  • 40 hours a week minimum
  • $85,000 per year
  • 15 vacation days/vacation pay 6% on wages earned
  • Health, dental and group insurance plan after meeting initial eligibility for joining such plan

Job Duties:

  • Oversee and coordinate all day-to-day operational and support activities of the shop.
  • Ensure that work production meets established objectives, specifications, and standards, and that all applicable operating policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Supervise the work of employees engaged in shop production and production support activities.
  • Analyze work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces.
  • CNC programming of lathes and mills, including 5 axis milling.
  • 5 axis programming/operations in a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Program, setup and proving out programs for Milling and Lathe machines.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Requisition of materials and supplies.
  • Mentor employees, providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Resolve day to day personnel grievances within the department as required and recommend work measures to improve productivity.
  • Train or arrange training of workers.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years experience supervising a machine shop or equivalent manufacturing facility experience.
  • 3+ years of experience reading G-code and programming CNC machines.
  • Proven ability to operate and program using Mastercam.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9000/N299 is an asset.
  • Manual machining experience an asset.
